Planning considerations
Start with furniture sizes, door access, pool edges and walking routes. A driveway needs a design suitable for vehicle loads. Review slope, water flow, thresholds and surface grip before choosing the finish.
Material choices
Concrete pavers offer a range of sizes, colors and patterns. Travertine is natural stone with inherent variations in texture and tone. Compare samples and discuss thickness, installation method and slip considerations. Neither material should be assumed to stay cool enough for bare feet in every condition.
Preparation before the finish
Removal, excavation, a well compacted base, finished elevations and edge restraint support the surface. The written plan should account for drainage, vehicle use where applicable and transitions to turf or existing concrete.
Care and upkeep
Sweep and clean using methods appropriate to the chosen material. Monitor joints, weeds and any movement. Discuss joint replenishment and whether a compatible sealer is appropriate; sealing is not automatically included.
What affects the cost
Area, stone or paver selection, pattern, borders, cuts, demolition, access and load requirements affect the quote. Steps, drainage corrections and changes in elevation can add scope.
