Planning considerations
Consider where children play, where furniture sits and how people move through the yard. Artificial turf can get hot in direct Phoenix sun. Plan shade and check the surface before barefoot use or pet play. Reflections from windows can concentrate heat and damage fibers.
Material choices
All of our turf is made in the U.S.A. Compare pile height, density, softness, blade appearance, backing and the product’s written warranty. A sample helps you assess feel and color, but no turf product should be assumed to stay cool in full sun.
Preparation before the finish
The plan should identify removal, grading, a well compacted base and a route for water to leave the area. Seams, pile direction and edge fastening affect the finished appearance. Drainage changes and irrigation modifications must be included in the written scope if needed.
Care and upkeep
Remove leaves and debris, rinse dirt as needed and brush flattened fibers with tools suitable for the selected product. Watch for weeds at edges and avoid hot grills or concentrated window reflections. Turf reduces lawn chores but is not maintenance free.
What affects the cost
Area, turf selection, removal, access, base depth, drainage work and the number of edges or seams all affect the quote. A small complicated area may require more work per square foot than a large open lawn.
